Our special guests take in the fun and fashion of Ladies Day
The St Leger Festival at Doncaster Races is renowned for being one of the most prestigious race weeks in British Horse Racing.
One of the highlights of the event each year is Ladies Day, where hundreds of hat wearing attendees descend on Doncaster Racecourse to enjoy some of the best horse racing and live entertainment in the racing calendar.
This year Ladbrokes Bingo invited a selection of the North's top fashion bloggers and their guests along to let their hair down with a day of indulgence in the luxury hospitality suite.
Guests enjoyed a champagne reception whilst being greeted by the talented Yorkshire string trio, Simply Strings playing to our private tables.
Laid out on the tables were goodie bags packed with useful items, including disposable cameras to help document the day, whilst charm bracelets brought some much needed luck.
The flip flops provided by Ladbrokes came in handy after a day standing in killer heels for many of the guests.
The pain was worth it though as the outfits on the day looked incredible. St Leger's ladies pulled out all of the stops with a mixture of big, brash, sparkles, sequins and bright colours as well as lots of 50's silhouettes and sophisticated looks.
Hats came in all shapes and sizes with feathers, pearls and flowers; one of our bloggers, Kellie from Big Fashionista actually crafted hers to match her dress with a black fascinator and a red corsage.
Everyone definitely dressed for the occasion.
The indulgence continued throughout the day as race-goers enjoyed a gourmet three course dinner topped off with afternoon tea!
Being bloggers, naturally out came the cameras to capture the stunning dishes and gorgeous table décor.
There were some definite surprises on the culinary front as well; Georgina from ‘She Might Be Loved' really enjoyed trying pigeon for the first time and the popping candy in the rhubarb dessert was an unexpected treat.
At 1.40pm it was time for the first race of the day. We placed our bets and waited excitedly to see who the first winners would be.
There were a total of eight races and the atmosphere was incredible for each one of them, with plenty of celebrations as our bloggers' horses came in. The clear winner of the day was Laura from ‘What Laura Loves', and her guest Sam, who were on a very impressive winning streak.
For those who weren't so lucky with their bets we also played #RaceDayBingo with the exclusive St Leger Bingo Cards.
The winner with eight horses placing in the top 3 for each race was Remie from ‘Remie's Luxury Blog' - £200 worth of Love2Shop vouchers are now heading her way as we speak. Congratulations Remie!
The final competition for the day was the #RaceDayBingo tweet of the day. The winning tweet goes to Georgina of ‘She Might Be Loved' for her Race Day highlights tweet and Instagram picture. Congratulations - Georgina wins a £50 Love2Shop voucher.
Thanks to Laura, Georgina, Kellie, Heather, Eleanor, Remie and Isabel for attending along with their guests and making it such an enjoyable day. We can't wait for St Leger's Ladies' Day 2015!
